This is a strange problem. On my Mac Mini, I drag copied some video files and folders from a flash drive to a folder on my hard drive. The copy operation seemed to proceed normally. But then, when I attempted to open one of the copied files, I noticed they were all greyed out and unopenable, both the files and folders. I drag copied the same files to the desktop and they copied normally and are openable.
I thought restarting the Mac might resolve the problem, but several restarts and days later, the unsuccessfully copied files are still greyed out in the folder I dragged them to. What's more, the Mac won't let me drag the good files from my desktop to the folder in question, saying the greyed out files are "busy."
My question: Can TechTool Pro address an issue like this, and can I run it on a specific folder?
