This struck me as a sick joke, to be honest.
When I rebooted into the eDrive I created from my (registered) TechTool 9, TechTool on the eDrive asked me for a serial number. This is exactly the sort of thing one dreads when one boots a recovery partition!
Why can TechTool not install a registered version of its registered self on the local eDrive???
