Memory Testing does not use all available ram

I have just upgraded the memory in my 2009 MacBook (running El Capitan) from 4Gb to 6Gb (4Gb+2Gb).
On running the memory test only 4.74 of the 6Gb is tested - why is this?

I am using the latest upgrade of TechtoolPro 9.
