Hello guys .. there are a lot of very smart learned people here.
With the newer SSD memory storage several things are coming up on my education that need to be sorted out to save My Bacon ... for memory failure and the like.
1) Life span of the SSD seems to be more fragile then hard drives (they can almost always be rescued short of being burned to a crisp). SSD memory flash drive issues have a life span and the more data that is in storage crowding the memory space ... shortens the life span.
Having a dedicated part (at least 10%) of the SSD reserved or partitioned off just for the computer to work the SSD data read - write needs seems to be a very good idea.
2) Need at least 1 other SSD to hold a clone of your working SSD in the computer in case of failure .. you have a back up.
Some are even saying have 2 back up SSD just to be sure your bacon is saved.
3) I want a Hard Drive to clone over my SSD startup .. and have it be boot able .. as the hard drive is more durable and can be rescued regardless if it is slower to use on the turbo boosted new iMac.
4) TTP .. has to be able to Dx the SSD and report life span cycles, test memory blocks, etc just like TTP goes to RAM and the Video memory and hopefully give me a warning idea my bacon is in trouble.
OK ... that is all that comes to my mind.
Any one else out there who knows more .. has an Electronic Engineering Degree .. that can help move this discussion along as our future is SSD memory in the computer.
AND .. it seems Intel i9 processor iMac .. is cheaper then a Intel i9 PC
