TTP 9.6 on el captain

Hello,

Due to all discussions about High sierra changes... mostly for laptop computers . I decided to buy ttp 9.6 to have it .
I'm not willing to move to high sierra although I read you can instal without changing the drive via the console panel.(apple should tell about that)

Apple being aware of this they kept updating safari and the security but will stop sooner or later to force people to move on.

My questions is simple do I have to install the TTP update and keep checking my drive with El captain or it is useless.

Thank you

Is it possible that broken SATA cable affect on Surface Scan?

At first. Sorry for my English.

I've replaced hard drive in my iMac to the brand new one and after that I've made the Surface Scan in TTP9. The test after few minutes pop up with information that 9 bad blocks were found. So I stopped it, took drive off and put it in my MacBook, and run the test one more time. In MacBook TTP9 didn't find any bad blocks.

I attached two screenshots. First from iMac and second from MacBook.

So I am curious is it even possible that broken SATA cable in iMac affects on surface test?

I will be very grateful for your feedback.

TechTool Pro 9.6.1 crashes

TechTool Pro 9.6.1 crashes on my computer during "check computer" every time the test gets to Smart Check. I have re-downloaded the installation ap and re-installed but that has made no difference. My computer is a 13" MacBook Pro 2017 running 10.13.3.

Can't build eDrive

I have Mavericks running on a 1TB fusion drive on my 2011 iMac. Having been told I can't have the eDrive on a fusion drive, I also have a 75GB partition on the HDD on which I have installed Sierra - there's 61GB space left after doing that.

Back in Mavericks I selected the Sierra partition for the eDrive, and the fusion drive as the source. During Partitioning, the Partition Map was successfully checked, but as soon as it came to 'Splitting', the job failed. Clicking the Sierra destination once more on the eDrive window it told me there was not enough free space on the volume. Not enough?? 61GB free when all the eDrive requires in total is 20GB according to the manual?

There's something very wrong here. (I've done Volume Rebuild on the Sierra partition, then tried again - same failure).

What gives?

Mac OS Trash Error Message: "This item will be deleted immediately."

I have an iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) running OS X El Capitan (10.11.6 (15G17023)). The startup disk is a 120 GB Solid State SATA Drive and I have an internal 1 TB SATA Disk for document storage.

When I delete an item from the Solid State SATA Drive, the item is moved to the Trash and I can choose to empty the trash at a later time.

When I try to delete an item from the internal SATA Disk, I get the alert message: "This item will be deleted immediately. You can't undo this action."

Can TechTool Pro 9 be used to fix this issue? Thanks in advance for your help.

TechTool Pro 9 Crash/Freeze

Purchased and Downloaded TTP 9 yesterday. If I could return and get a refund I would do it right now. Have had to Force Quit TTP 9 about 7 or 8 times in less than 24 Hrs. TTP 9 has crashed or frozen while switching between Test Function and Tools Function. Uninstalled and Re-Installed TTP still had problem. Running High Sierra 10.13.3

Sensors Test will not work

Just installed 9.5.1 and performed the 'Check Computer'. When the suite reached Sensors Test, everything stopped. No display showing anything was happening as per your manual and I waited for 45 minutes for something to appear. I then just cancelled that test and the 'Check Computer' resumed OK. All test results showed in reports - except Sensors Test of course.

I tried running Sensors Test by itself a few times - nothing happend. The 'Run Sensors Test' box does not grey out and if I click the box again, it puts a second Sensors Test icon on my screen. I ran another Sensors Test while I was typing this and after 10 minutes, nothing appears that it is actually doing something.

I just cancelled Sensors Test and checked Reports: Cancelled - No Bad Sensors detected - Sensors Test ran 1 time, successfully. All the times I tried and cancelled yesterday have disappeared from my Reports today.

So is Sensors Test actually doing something or that test just does not show on the display as your manual says it would?

TechToolPro9 reporting Hard Drive S.M.A.R.T. Failures

TechToolPro9 reporting Hard Drive S.M.A.R.T. Failures on both my iMac running Sierra and my MacBookPro running El Capitan. No other disk utility I run finds any S.M.A.R.T. problems. Is this a glitch with TTP9 or is it just far better than all the other disk utilities. Need to know so I can order new Hard drives if necessary. I clone each Hard Drive weekly, so I'm prepared- but do not what to go through the expense and trouble if all the other utilities are correct and TTP9 just has a glitch that needs correcting.

TechTool 9.6.1 running on MacOS 10.12.6 problems

Good afternoon from sunny Florida.

As the title indicates I am currently having some difficulties using TechTool 9.6.1 with MacOS 10.12.6. I have been using this combo with no problems or glitches until now. The issues just started a few days ago when I had to switch to a new hard drive. My first attempt was using TechTool to clone a new drive via the eDrive. That wouldn't work as the destination drive was not available. I then switched to a Protogo via USB. That worked fine with no issues.

Now for the current issues:
Number 1. I needed to delete the eDrive from my old drive to install the new eDrive. Each time I hit the final button, TechTool would just quit without doing anything else. I would get a dialog box asking to send the report to Apple, etc.. So bottom line I can't delete the eDrive. Originally I just pulled the old drive with the eDrive installed but the option to create a new one was not available. That I why I was trying to delete the old one first.

Number 2. In TechTool, I can't access the tools function. The tests work as well as reviewing reports, but clicking the tools button does nothing. I then removed TechTool and all files/components. I went to my Micromat account and downloaded the installer. After entering my serial number again and launching the program, I got the same results... no tools and suddenly quitting while trying to delete the old eDrive.

I am confident there is a simple fix or something I overlooked as the program has been working great with no glitches until now. Any hints or directions would be greatly appreciated as I am kind of stumped at the moment.

Network speed not properly represented

I usually don't look at the five dials of what I will call the base TechTool screen, but I happened to notice that the Network speed dial badly misrepresented the potential speed of my only network interface. The dial currently says "11Mbps Network", while the System Report from the About This Mac screen shows me:
Interfaces:
en0:
Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x152)
Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (7.77.37.5.1a3)

Signal / Noise: -50 dBm / -92 dBm
Transmit Rate: 585
MCS Index: 7
This screen doesn't show that this is a 80MHz channel, but it is, as I can see from other tools. 11 Mbps is a completely understandable value to report for 802.11b, but an 80 MHz 802.11ac channel should not be represented this way. This Transmit Rate shown above is one example of this. If I understand correctly, Transmit Rate shown above is the downstream PHY rate (in Mbps) reported by the radio. That number - even though it overstates the TCP throughput by a fact of 1.5 or 2 - would be a more useful number to report.

S.M.A.R.T. and OWC Aura Pro X SSD (Tech Tool Pro 9.6.1)

Just got an "Over Temperature Threshold" warning from TT about this device. I've been using 9.6.1 since it was released and this SSD has been in my Mac Pro (High Sierra) since December. No problems have been reported until just now. I just finished a chat with OWC and was told that the Auro Pro X doesn't support the thermal reporting part of S.M.A.R.T. If that's the case, then perhaps Tech Tool's reporting is in error. What can you tell me about this?

Thanks,
Michael

Need Corporate License for Protogo on multiple machines?

$

Hello,

My department has recently begun to support about a dozen Mac Pros for our creative team. We want to have tools on hand to troubleshoot as needed and are looking at TechTool Pro.

There is a concern from the creative dept about installing tools like this on these machines would affect performance, as a concession we're looking to simply use the Protogo feature as-needed, and maybe quarterly checks (details aren't finalized). We would be installing the full program on an iMac we have full control over and creating the bootable usb/protogo drive there.

So the question is; using this model should be buy a multi-user license, or is a single user license sufficient?

Thanks for the insight.

Battery fail?

TechTool is reporting a battery fail, but my MacBook Air (2012) is working fine and still will get several hours of battery life on a charge. What's it really telling me? Do I need to go out and get a battery and replace it even though it seems to have plenty of life left? If not, can I change the threshold that provoke the battery test fail warning? I'm getting those warnings a couple of times a day and they're annoying if I don't really have to change the battery right now. Thanks!

How do I prevent it from freezing my start-up volume?!?

This is really annoying when I am trying to get some work done. Go to get some water or hit the bathroom, and come back to find my computer frozen... "momentarily"... Right! Momentarily is NOT 15 minutes of waiting!!

How can I schedule it to only do this nonsense when I am asleep, like 4 AM? If you guys were smart, that would have been an early feature. Seriously...

Version 9.6.1 - File optimization not working

I've been using TechTool defragment for 5-6 years. I find this very useful. Recently I have upgraded 9.6.1. Since then when I click "Run file optimization" button it finishes less then a second time. And it says "Completed", "No fragmented Files Found".

Less then a second ???

This app is completely disappointment.

I'm getting a Sensors test fail on my 2013 MacBook Air of "DC-In 16.56V Failed." This is only the case when the computer is plugged in. What does this failure indicate?

Thanks!

MachineProfile 1.2.7 has been released and 1.2.6 will find and download an updater (after multiple checks...) but when I try to download a new installer directly, I always get 1.2.6 instead.
